Remember when it was shared that through working on clients, massage therapists use vision and touch to spot irregularities that you can’t? Even when a client is not on the table, a strong background in personal training and strength coaching has developed a keen eye for spotting irregularities in others. Today, while lifting weights, a gym member seemed to struggle through a back movement. After they finished, the person stood up, turned around, and began to stretch. Immediately noticed was a heavy imbalance in the member’s shoulders, probably due to injury or repetitious movement(s) which worked the muscles unevenly.
Pay attention to your body. Are certain movements causing you pain or is there decreased range of motion? Are you weaker on one side? Do you experience muscle fatigue? These are all signs you could be experiencing body imbalances. Although it is always wise to consult your physician, please be aware there are non-surgical treatments that may aid in your wellness and recovery.
